Role Summary/Purpose: Being part of a legal regional team, covering EMEA, the legal intern will need to anticipate the unexpected and be able to handle whatever general legal matter comes within the broad range of jurisdictions within EMEA. This role requires self-motivation, organization, attention to detail, versatility and pragmatism. The legal intern will need to demonstrate that he or she has sound legal judgment, can learn quickly in a fast-paced environment, and can communicate confidently at all levels.
Essential Responsibilities: Key activities would include:

  • Handle contract redlining in relation to xx products and services.
  • Assist the legal team with its risk matters.
  • Perform corporate formalities.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memos on a wide range of legal topics including: commercial, litigation, labor and employment, data privacy, and intellectual property.
  • Help updating / creating training materials and corresponding initiative.
  • Support other GE legal teams with multi-region projects.
Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BA/BSc/LLB degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Knowledgeable of MS applications (Excel, Powerpoint, etc).
  • Fluency in English.
  • EU work permit.

Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.

  • Experience in a leading private practice, or in-house,
  • Experience of litigation and/or dispute resolution; and drafting commercial contracts.
